Back by popular demand: Model Magic 2.0! We all know how important it is to provide AAC users with repeated models of interactive use for extended periods of time! This practical workshop is led by two enthusiastic professionals who understand the day-to-day challenges in being able to provide continuous modeling; and is geared towards AAC professionals who are familiar with core boards and devices but want to ‘up’ their modeling game.

Participants will gain skills in providing appropriate and frequent modeling and have numerous opportunities for hands-on practice. During the afternoon portion of this workshop, participants will put their skills to test while competing in game show style challenges (perfect to use for training other staff and partners back at your setting!)

Attendees will leave this workshop feeling confident in providing ongoing and effective modeling for their AAC users. Participants are asked to bring any devices or core boards they use in practice (although a variety of options will be available to try out during the workshop). There is a $20 materials fee in addition to the $295 cost of the workshop.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. List at least 3 benefits to modeling on student's communication devices.

2. Identify at least 3 modeling strategies to increase student's communication on core boards and devices.

3. Utilize at least 5 engaging activities to use with staff, students, and parents to help them gain a comfort level with using core boards and devices during your professional development.
