Description:

You have never attended a session quite like this before—we guarantee it. It’s a well-known secret that Kelly and Sayard belong on television, but thankfully, they are here at CTG. They are harnessing their unique powers and a collection of classic SNL skits to deliver a hilarious, yet practical, guide to Assistive Technology. This is professional development that is genuinely entertaining! They will teach you the essential Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology (QIAT), demanding to PUMP YOU UP! to a higher standard. You’ll learn how to approach the AT Consideration process with a healthy dose of “More Cowbell!” and master the art of Feature Matching. They will show you how to properly document AT in an IEP with a Weekend Update style report and cover Transition considerations so that your students never end up in a VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER. Prepare for unexpected laughs and a completely transformed perspective, and maybe a few guest stars!

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Participants will identify the QIAT Indicators for Assistive Technology.

• Participants will highlight two Feature Matching skills for successful AT consideration.

• Participants will be able to list three indicators of a successful Transition plan for assistive technology.
