This session will explore how to support emergent writing for students with complex communication, cognitive, and motor disabilities by using strategic tools such as word banks alongside full alphabet access. Participants will learn how to design meaningful writing opportunities that balance support with autonomy, fostering participation, engagement, and growth, as well as reducing the anxiety associated with open-ended writing tasks.
