Description:

Kreative Solutions is a novel approach for use of AAC throughout life from birth to adult to give persons with disabilities opportunities in all areas of life. In this presentation the presenter will describe the background, purpose, key concepts, components, methods, implementation, and outcomes of the Kreative Solutions concepts. The presenter will give specific examples of how AAC was successfully used in creative ways for inclusion of persons with disabilities in educational, functional, recreational, social, and vocational activities by describing the journey of one person with disabilities from birth to adult. The presenter will demonstrate that AAC can be successfully utilized to include persons with disabilities in all areas. Participants in this session will acquire skills which can be applied in their own unique settings.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

• List 3 attitudes for successful implementation and 3 attitudes for unsuccessful implementation of the Kreative Solutions concepts.

• List the key Kreative Solutions concepts and components.

• Develop at least 3 specific ideas to apply the Kreative Solutions key concepts in their own unique settings.
