Description:

This intermediate-to-advanced session is designed for parents, educators, and speech-language pathologists who are already familiar with basic editing in TouchChat with WordPower. The session will explore advanced customization features to enhance communication for AAC users and promote more meaningful interactions. Participants will learn to embed videos, use the “take a photo” action, assign gestures, adjust button margins and touch sensitivity, and create language toggles for bilingual users. Additional topics include sharing messages, backing up and importing pages, and troubleshooting common issues. The session will also highlight valuable, underused pages that support language development and everyday implementation. With real-world examples and live demonstrations, attendees will gain both technical and practical strategies for integrating AAC into daily routines.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify Use and Program buttons by integrating video links, assigning gestures, and configuring unique touch settings.

• Integrate toggle actions to switch between languages within a single user profile seamlessly.

• Perform backups and restores of personalized pages and import content from other user files.
