Description:
This session introduces participants to IRISBOND’s Hiru, the first multi-platform eye tracker, alongside the IRISBOND App Wheel, a curated guide to eyegaze-accessible apps across operating systems. The IRISBOND App Wheel is an essential resource for therapists, educators, and families seeking eye-gaze-compatible applications. The goal of the workshop is to provide a practical, interactive experience where participants learn to configure eye tracking technology for different types of apps, ranging from communication tools to leisure and educational activities.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Demonstrate Hiru’s multi-platform functionality, showing how the device switches between 2 different operating systems. Participants will learn how to calibrate for accurate eye tracking on 2 devices.
• Navigate the IRISBOND App Wheel to identify and select the most appropriate apps across three categories—AAC tools, educational software, and leisure activities—based on user needs.
• Identify and configure settings for at least three different eyegaze-compatible apps, such as AAC, games, or educational tools, by collaborating on case studies using the Hiru device and App Wheel to meet varied student needs
