Description:
In this session, participants will explore how the amount and type of AAC training received by educators influences the frequency of AAC use and perceived language growth in students who use AAC. Attendees will review research findings from a school-based study involving teachers, instructional assistants, and related service providers. The session will highlight specific outcomes such as gains in social communication and vocabulary development. Participants will examine data visuals, discuss the benefits of coaching-based professional development, and receive practical examples of training approaches that support AAC implementation. By the end of the session, attendees will leave with evidence-based insights and actionable strategies to enhance communication support for individuals who use AAC in educational settings.
