Description:
In this session, an IRISBOND team member will guide participants through Oskol 2, IRISBOND’s newest eye gaze speech-generating device (SGD) designed for iPad. Attendees will first be introduced to the device and its key eye-tracking features, followed by real examples of how people with complex communication needs will use it within augmentative and alternative communication (AAC). The session will then highlight step-by-step how clinicians, educators, and caregivers will support individuals in getting started with Oskol 2. Finally, participants will learn how the device will be obtained for use at home in the U.S. market, ensuring they leave with both practical knowledge and resources.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Describe three core features of Oskol 2 that support effective eye gaze access on iPad-based AAC systems.
• Demonstrate one or more ways Oskol 2 can be used with iPad-based AAC apps to support communication.
• Identify two available pathways for acquiring Oskol 2 in the United States, including funding and distribution options.
