Experience

Jennifer Carr is the Educational Specialist of Assistive Technology Services (ATS) in Fairfax County Public Schools, Virginia, the 12th largest school district in the nation. Teaching students with physical disabilities was her springboard into assistive technology (AT). For over 20 years, Jennifer has worked in the field of AT. She supports a team of 33 AT coaches in the school system with a focus on AT evaluation protocols, report writing, state standardized testing accommodations, inclusive tools, and building capacity through teacher leadership. Jennifer has presented on a variety of topics at state and national conferences. She has coauthored Developing Your Assistive Technology Leadership: Best Practices for Success and Assistive Technology Outcomes & Benefits (ATOB) Journal: ATIA “Voices from the Field - The Assistive Technology Services Experience of the 2020-2021 School Year".
