Sarah Smith

Experience

Sarah Smith, M.Ed, is the Director of the Illinois Autism Partnership (IAP). She has a longtime record of success in designing curriculum for and working with individuals with autism and related disabilities. She has worked in both private and public school settings, serving in roles including school administrator, special education teacher, and educational consultant. She has extensive experience in leadership, supervision, coaching, specialized curriculum, program development, and data analysis. Smith has developed evidence-based autism programs in public school districts across the country, with an emphasis on students' independence, functional communication, and community integration. Smith received her MA in special education from Rutgers University and later received her principal certification from The University of Pennsylvania.
