Dr. Blazie is a molecular biologist and geneticist with nearly 13 years of university-level teaching and research experience. As a student in Marco Mangone's laboratory at the Biodesign Institute, he pioneered the PAT-Seq method of mRNA sequencing, which revealed novel genetic mechanisms that govern cell identity. He went on to complete postdoctoral training in Yishi Jin's laboratory at the University of California, leading foundational research focused on genes regulating neuron function and behavior. Throughout his academic career, he has mentored more than a dozen emerging biomedical scientists. Dr. Blazie is currently driving software innovation at Blazie Technologies and is passionate about creating tools that will advance STEM learning opportunities for the Blind.
