Description:

Braille notetakers have long enhanced digital access for the blind. Yet most commercial models lack effective AI tools, offer few STEM learning opportunities, and restrict community-driven innovation with closed software. Blazie Technologies fills this gap with a new generation of open-source pocket computers for the blind, designed to support learning, productivity, and creativity. Participants will explore new braille displays and input devices, alongside strategies for matching tools to educational or vocational needs. The session highlights AI utilities for writing, research, and math, and includes two hands-on coding activities with Blazie’s learning tools. By session’s end, participants will be able to select appropriate Blazie products, apply AI features, and support basic coding instruction. This CEU-eligible session emphasizes inclusion, accessibility, and practical implementation in diverse learning contexts.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Identify the appropriate company technology for there braille client.

• Utilize three AI tools to enhance writing, research and mathematics within the BT operating system.

• Identify, write and execute their own code on the BT platform.
