Mrs. Lindsay Spears is the Director of Curriculum and Secondary Special Services at Huntley 158 outside of Chicago, IL. In this role, she leads efforts to create an inclusive and equitable education system by aligning accessible curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. Mrs. Spears oversees various district initiatives, including evaluating and systematizing the district's MTSS within the PLC structure, managing Huntley's data analytics dashboard, enhancing staff knowledge on evidence-based practices, leading professional learning for principals in the areas of PLC/Instructional Leadership and Universal Design for Learning, facilitating the district's Behavior Task Force, ensuring accurate state reporting, and developing a district-wide framework to support student attendance.
Mrs. Spears is dedicated to empowering staff with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to meet the needs of all learners. She is particularly passionate about Universal Design for Learning (UDL), designing accessible Tier 1 instruction and assessment and breaking down silos between special education, general education, and technology.
Lindsay's previous roles include serving as a teacher in special and general education settings, an Associate Principal at Cedar Falls High School, and the PK-12 Curriculum Lead at College Community School District in Cedar Rapids. She is currently pursuing her Superintendency/Ed.S and Ed.D through Northern Illinois University.
