Description:

The Quality Indicators for Assistive Technology (QIAT) provide guidance for improving AT services in schools, yet implementation remains one of the most common challenges for teams. This interactive session focuses on how educators and leaders can strengthen AT implementation in IEPs during a time of rapid change in education. Participants will explore the QIAT implementation indicators, discuss barriers such as staffing shortages and unclear responsibilities, and share strategies that help teams follow through on AT decisions. Members of the QIAT Leadership Team will highlight freely available technical assistance resources and invite discussion about emerging needs across schools and states. Attendees will collaborate with colleagues to identify practical approaches that ensure assistive technology supports move from written plans to effective classroom practice.
