
Elisa Wern is an Occupational Therapist, with a Master’s degree in Special Education, and RESNA Certified Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) with over 20 years of experience in pediatric therapy. She presents at a variety of state and national conferences including regional training, AOTA, CEC, PATINS A2E, and ATIA, Closing the Gap, OTAP/ECHO TIES Project, CATE, TalkingAAC and AAC in the Cloud. She is the Local Assistive Technology Specialist for Alachua County Schools in Gainesville, Florida, where she coordinates AT services for the district, and serves as the Lead Occupational Therapist. In her spare work time she has a private practice, AT & OT Consulting and Coaching, supporting students and families primarily through teletherapy evaluations, consultations, and interventions as well as consultation for companies. She is a contracted staff member for LessonPix providing training and conference support. She proudly served as a Year 1 Mentor as a Joy Zabala Fellow. Elisa Wern has relationships to disclose. My full-time salary is paid by Alachua County Public Schools. I have a private practice--AT & OT Consulting and Coaching-- through which I do private paid OT and AT evaluations as well as consult and training. I have been fortunate to present at many conferences and professional development opportunities some of which I received an honorarium. I am a volunteer for ATMakers.org and lead the Intellikeys Restoration Project. I coordinate an international book study for Drs. Erickson and Koppenhaver’s book Comprehensive Literacy for All on Facebook with over 6,000 people I occasionally receive app codes or prerelease software in exchange for feedback. Often you’ll see me at conferences assisting at the LessonPix booth, and do receive travel/registration support in exchange. I am the co-author of a book chapter in the Fundamentals of AAC: A Case-Based Approach to Enhancing Communication- available now at Amazon.com or Plural Publishing. The Chapter is entitled, Sensory Integration and AAC. I previously provide services as an OT Consultant to Verge Learning Inc and XceptionalED, for which I receive payment, this ended in 2022.
