Sara is an AT/AAC Specialist with Alt+Shift, an IDEA grant-funded initiative through the Michigan Department of Education, Office of Special Education. In her role, she delivers state and national training and implementation support on assistive technology (AT) including augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and comprehensive literacy for learners with significant disabilities.

With 12 years of experience as a speech-language pathologist with the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District, Sara has worked with AAC users from early intervention to age 26. She has presented at conferences, including ATIA, ASHA, Closing the Gap, AAC in the Cloud, and Learning Forward. A passionate advocate for inclusive education, she is dedicated to improving outcomes for all learners by supporting educators, families, and communities through collaboration and professional learning.

Sara also co-hosts “All Means All” an inclusive education podcast with Carolyn O’Hearn.
