Experience

After graduating from Mounds View High school in 1995, I returned to the Mounds View School District to be a teacher in the summer of 1999. My teaching journey began with a bachelor’s degree from UWEC with licenses in General Education and Developmental Cognitive Disabilities. Through my first year teaching, I quickly learned from my students that I needed more education. I added a Master's in education with additional licenses in Learning Disabilities and Emotional Behavior Disorders through Bethel University and then added an ASD certification through Hamline University. A certain student sparked my need for learning MORE and thus I added a license in Physical & Health Disabilities (which then also covers Traumatic Brain Injury and Acute and Chronic Health Conditions) in 2016 from MSUM. With the additional nature of needs that accompany this population, next was an ATP (Assistive Technology Professional) certification with additional training through RESNA.
