Experience
As a speech language pathologist and assistive technology facilitator, my experiences have been rooted in the desire to promote the authentic expression of individuals with complex communication needs. I have joined a wide variety of individuals, from birth-18 years, in their journey towards functional and meaningful communication within therapeutic day schools, pediatric outpatient clinics and public schools. In my current role, I have the opportunity to support special education teams in the identification and implementation of assistive technology tools, specially in the area of augmentative and alternative communication. With a special interest in literacy and AAC, I continue to collaborate with colleagues to progress classroom literacy initiatives and to advocate for continued access to appropriate and engaging literacy instruction district wide.
