Description:

In this session, participants will delve into accessible fine arts instruction through engaging hands-on experiences and the presentation of adaptive visual art, music, theatre, and media arts programs that robustly & effectively address student needs. Throughout, participants will examine National Core Arts Standards, best practices, and approaches for supporting students of varying abilities across fine arts education delivery models. Attendees will explore readily available and easy to create assistive technologies and high-impact materials, and will leave with resources designed to aid educators and specialists serving individuals across the disability spectrum in diverse fine arts learning environments.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Describe at least three adaptive tools appropriate for fine arts instruction.

• Discuss at least two high impact materials used to support adaptive fine arts instruction.

• Articulate at least two delivery model considerations and potential solutions within adaptive fine arts instruction.
