Emily Cantillon, Ph.D., TVI, is a Teacher of the Visually Impaired whose goal is to ensure meaningful educational access for all students, particularly those with Cortical/Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI). She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Northern Colorado, where her research focused on educational access and instructional practices for students with CVI. She also holds a doctoral minor in statistical analysis and a Graduate Certificate in CVI. Dr. Cantillon serves as the School-Age Lead CVI Teacher at Perkins School for the Blind, providing direct instruction, consultation, and program leadership to support students with complex visual needs in both public and specialized settings. With over 15 years of experience in special education, she has taught graduate-level courses in teacher preparation programs and regularly presents at regional and national conferences.
