Location: 1349, Akershus, Norway
Financial Disclosure:

I have several different employment relationships and a few ownership interests. Ridderne is a limited company of which I am the sole owner. Ridderne is responsible for and owns MTEK. In addition, I work in two municipalities (25% in each) as a facilitator and interpreter for two advisory groups. Beyond this, I provide courses and guidance to municipalities, families, and assistants. I own 5% of Trygg-Grunn, which produces 360‑degree video for educational purposes. I am also an advisor for a newly established self‑advocacy group; this work is on a voluntary basis.

Experience

For the last 40 years I have worked with people with intellectual disabilities in Norway. During that time, I have seen a significant shift in how we support self-determination, inclusion, and the use of technology in everyday life. I have been deeply involved in projects such as RGB (the Advisory Group for People with Intellectual Disabilities in the municipality of Bærum), ”De synlige” (the self-advocacy organization for people with intellectual disabilities), and MTEK, for which I have primary responsibility. Through these initiatives, we have worked to make opportunities for mastery and independence more visible, and more attainable for people with intellectual disabilities. I have also worked on several public-sector projects and in many different advisory roles. These experiences have given me unique insights that I would like to share with you. Across all of these projects, assistive technology for independence has been an important factor.
