Brian Gant

Experience

Dr. Gant is an Associate Dean of Technology, and two-time alumnus of Maryville University, earning a bachelor’s degree in Information Systems (03'), and a Doctorate in Higher Education Leadership (21’). His dissertation focused on perceptions of diversity as well and ways to overcome it within technology fields.

Prior to joining Maryville, Dr. Gant spent 17 years with both the FBI an U.S. Secret Service (USSS) as a Special Agent. He accepted an appointment to become a full-time Assistant Professor in at the Simon School of Business, Maryville University where he currently serves as Associate Dean of Technology & Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity. Dr. Gant's extensive industry experience in the federal government, along with expertise in cybersecurity and technical functions significantly contributes to the academic environment and enhances the opportunity for experiential learning that expands access to technology and key technical skills needed for success.
