Sara Andrea is a speech-language pathologist passionate about expanding communication access for individuals with complex communication needs. She specializes in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), assistive technology, and social communication.
Sara works full-time at Lane Education Service District and also provides private practice services. Her work focuses on designing functional, individualized AAC systems that support meaningful communication in real-world settings. She is especially passionate about helping teams move beyond “having a device” to building systems that are actually used across environments.
Her approach is grounded in collaboration, practical implementation, and evidence-based practice, with a strong emphasis on honoring each individual’s unique communication style.
Sara has presented at regional and national conferences, including COSA, OSHA, NWRSA, CSUN, AAC Early Starts, AT-TIES, and Closing the Gap. She is dedicated to helping educators, therapists, and families build sustainable communication supports that truly work in everyday life.
At the end of the day, Sara believes communication should be functional, respected, and actually used—not just programmed, prompted, or sitting on a shelf.
