Experience

Dr. Kami Holst is a licensed occupational therapist and Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Doctoral Program at St. Ambrose University. She holds advanced clinical certification in Brain Injury Rehabilitation and LSVT BIG® therapy, with specialized expertise in neurological rehabilitation and functional recovery. Dr. Holst’s work focuses on translating evidence-based neurorehabilitation strategies into meaningful, occupation-centered interventions that support participation, independence, and quality of life. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she mentors doctoral occupational therapy students and actively engages in interdisciplinary collaborations that advance assistive technology development and innovative rehabilitation solutions. Dr. Holst also serves as President of Empower House Brain Injury Clubhouse, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting community reintegration, wellness, and long-term participation for individuals living with brain injury.
