With a career spanning over 35 years—from her early work as a practitioner focused on providing access to communication and the environment to her long tenure leading Don Johnston Inc—Ruth is passionately focused on universal access. Her commitment involves working to eliminate resource-related barriers and shifting attitudes to build self-sustaining cultures of success. She has contributed to the field as an advisory board member for organizations like CAST and Bookshare, ensuring access to accessible materials, and with ATIA to support the growth of Assistive Technology. Mentoring district AT leaders and building capacity within their systems are her proudest achievements.
