Description:
Building on the digital notebook introduced at the 2025 CTG conference, this presentation equips speech-language pathologists with a comprehensive, ready-to-use digital toolkit designed to streamline clinical practice and elevate therapeutic outcomes. Organized as a centralized hub of evidence-based materials, the toolkit covers essential topics including alternative access methods such as switches and eye gaze technology, tangible and tactile symbols, and communication passports with ready-to-use templates. Attendees will also learn practical strategies for obtaining free AAC app trials and conducting feature matching to support informed, evidence-based decision-making. Rounding out the toolkit are creative, motivating therapy materials adaptable across age groups and ability levels. By consolidating these diverse resources into one accessible digital format, SLPs can spend less time searching and more time delivering exceptional, student-centered care.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Participants will list three resources for alternative access for AAC students.
• Participants will identify three tactics to improve AAC implementation in the classroom for individuals with complex communication needs.
• Participants will define the feature-matching process and identify two resources to support it.
