Description:

Stop wondering which AI tools are worth your time and start seeing them in action. This fast-paced, demonstration-heavy session is designed for special educators and therapists (SLPs, OTs, PTs) looking for immediate, practical solutions. We will go beyond the hype to “unbox” several free and paid AI tools—from general assistants like Google Gemini to specialized platforms like MagicSchool and Glint. We will dive into side-by-side demonstrations of no-cost utilities and premium software to show exactly how they transform IEP workflows, therapy planning, and accessibility. You will learn to navigate the “paywall” with confidence, identifying when to stick with free tools and when to invest for maximum student impact. Leave with a curated, ready-to-use toolkit for your specific role.

Learning Outcomes:

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

• As a result of this activity, participants will be able to identify 3 ways they can use AI tools to support all students.

• As a result of this activity, participants will be able to create their own AI toolkit specific to their roles in special education.

• As a result of this activity, participants will be able to recognize when a tool is "safe" to use.
