Description:
Participants will explore how to leverage free multimedia tools to create motivating, personalized AAC learning experiences. This session will demonstrate a sequence for integrating resources like Google Slides, Canva, Suno, and YouTube to develop media-rich products, including interactive games and music-based activities. Attendees will learn to adapt these tools to align with a learner’s specific interests, fostering spontaneous communication and authentic connection. By the end of the session, participants will possess a collection of customizable templates and low-prep strategies. This roadmap will empower educators, families, and administrators to use creativity as a powerful force for communication growth across all settings.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Identify three free multimedia tools that can be used to create engaging and personalized communication activities for AAC users.
• Demonstrate two strategies for adapting multimedia content to support spontaneous and independent communication across different AAC systems.
• Develop at least one customized activity or template using a free online tool that supports learner engagement and promotes communication in a classroom or home setting.
