Description:
Matching Features to Needs: Forbes AAC Products in Practice provides an applied overview of the Forbes AAC product line through the lens of feature matching. Participants will explore how product features such as access options, portability, positioning supports, auditory output, and software compatibility can be aligned with an individual’s communication and functional needs. Using practical examples, this session will examine the clinical reasoning involved in selecting AAC tools that support participation across settings while also allowing for future growth. This presentation is designed for professionals seeking a clearer understanding of how Forbes AAC products can be matched to user needs in a thoughtful, individualized, and clinically relevant way.
Learning Outcomes:
As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Describe three feature categories to consider when matching Forbes AAC products to an individual’s communication, access, and positioning needs.
• Identify key differences among Forbes AAC hardware, software, and accessory options and how those differences influence clinical decision-making in AAC assessment and implementation.
• Apply feature-matching principles to select appropriate Forbes AAC product features for case-based users across settings and support needs.
Disclosures:
I am a salaried Assistive Technology Specialist with Forbes AAC.
