Experience

Stephen is a Speech-Language Pathologist and Assistive Technology Specialist with Forbes AAC, with a passion for helping individuals communicate through technology. He earned a B.A. in Media Arts with a minor in Music from the University of South Carolina and an M.A. in Speech Pathology and Audiology from South Carolina State University. Stephen spent nine years as a pediatric SLP in South Carolina public schools, where he discovered his passion for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). He later served as Chair of the Speech-Language Pathology Program at Columbia College, where he was also a lecturer and clinical supervisor, and taught AAC at the University of South Carolina. He is also the creator of Speech and Language Songs, blending music and therapy, and was honored with the 2024 Louis M. DiCarlo Award for Outstanding Clinical Achievement.
