About EaZyHold
Kerry Mellin, a longtime costume designer in the film industry, invented EaZyHold out of personal necessity. When arthritis made it difficult to maintain a grip, she found herself using duct tape to hold onto her broom handle, and realized there had to be a better solution. Drawing on her design experience, Kerry developed and patented EaZyHold, a durable, hygienic silicone cuff that comfortably assists in holding objects.

About the 
The functionalhand® is a patented assistive device created by an Occupational Therapist, Linda Merry and Physical Therapist, Celine Rosati Skertich. These therapists each have over 40 years of experience working with patients who have a variety of diagnoses resulting in grasp difficulties and impairments. Their goal was to create a universal cuff to support grasp and tool use while maintaining the biomechanics of the arm and hand. Their mission is participation for all.
As therapists, Linda and Celine know the importance of assisting function that is meaningful to the user because meaningful activities will be practiced thereby improving performance and learning!
The was designed to be fun, functional and flexible:

FUN: Play is the context in which children learn. The was developed to put the “fun” in function and support play. It will hold any size paintbrush, crayon, marker, pencil, glue stick, stampers and a wide range of other “tools”. It can be used to adapt games for independent play or placed in a stylus to access an ipad, phone, computer or augmentative device and so much more.
FUNCTIONAL: Enables independence by allowing individuals of all ages to participate. Holds objects requiring grasp in either the horizontal or vertical orientation. The V- design prevents slippage. Place eating utensils, kitchen utensils, gardening tools, musical instruments and tools to complete activities of daily living.

How functionalhand and EaZyHold Can Be Used Together
The functionalhand and EaZyHold are both assistive devices designed to help people with limited hand mobility or a weak grip to hold objects, but they differ in design, material, and primary function.
The EaZyHold silicone cuff can be used to help the user maintain a grasp on the functionalhand device itself. If a user has trouble keeping their hand around the functionalhand’s ergonomic handle, the EaZyHold strap can be used to strap their hand more securely to the device, ensuring the benefits of the functionalhand’s proper hand arch support are maintained.
