The OATECA Core System

The OATECA System – “Classroom in a Box” was created to empower special education professionals.  Its assessment and curriculum activities include 163 skills within three functional skill areas: Academic, Self-Help, and Job Training skills. OATECA equips professionals with tools to help:

• Fulfill Federal mandates
• Follow the scope and sequence of learning to meet standards
• Positively change conversations during IEP’s using assessment data
• Empower classrooms with turnkey solutions

OATECA Assessment

OATECA’s ipsative assessment targets students with significant disabilities, guiding educators in identifying holes and planning interventions.

Turnkey

Hands-on manipulatives enable the most complex learner to demonstrate their knowledge.

Progress Monitoring

The OATECA Digital Scoring Component produces multiple reports targeting interventions and guides instructional decisions.

OATECA Add-Ons offer several standards-driven tools that can be executed independently from the OATECA Core System.

Every Choice Counts – Transition

The OATECA Every Choice Counts Transition introduces transition-aged learners into society by preparing for full-time employment through the targeted three strands: Self-Advocacy, Life, and Job Skills.

• 4-Year curriculum
• Result-oriented process based on learners’ needs, strengths, preferences, and interests across 13 Domains and 26 topics.
• Over 100 skills to equip learners to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

Science

The OATECA Science equips educators with engaging and purposeful science activities:

• Separate elementary and secondary versions
• Topics covered: Physical, Life, and Earth & Space Sciences
• Aligned to grade-level standards
• Scientific Investigations engaging students
• The system includes ready-made manipulatives, materials, and student workbooks.

Social Studies

Bring to life history, geography, climate, and economics in your Functional Skills Classroom:

• Separate elementary and secondary versions
• Aligned to grade-level standards
• Student Workbooks with engaging classroom or take-home activities.
• Purposeful game play (e.g., bingo, game board) to bring historical events and people to life.​

​With a combined experience in education for over 60 years, we have the privilege of teaching students with special needs and now working with educators to continue nurturing individuals with all levels of disabilities, especially those with severe disabilities.
