Description:
This presentation will address the implementation of adaptive seating with a focus on educational participation. Considerations for seated positioning to promote postural control will emphasize function and participation. Suggestions for best practice positioning will address the range of physical challenges, and further recommendations will incorporate strategies for students with sensory behaviors and autism spectrum disorders. Adaptive seating and adaptive desk placement discussion will incorporate AAC device use, and current evidence will be incorporated throughout. A demonstration of adaptive product features will illustrate relevant concepts. The session will conclude with Q&A.
