Part 1: Creating a Culture of Inclusivity

Learning should be fun and engaging for everyone, even learners who may struggle with school, including those with IEPs, 504 plans or who are multilingual learners.

Join our fun as we explore a range of strategies which engage and empower ALL students to take charge of their own learning.  Infuse your learning environment with these inclusive practices that help you design educational experiences that meet the unique needs of every learner.

From apps to browser extensions to web tools, let’s find supports to promote active learning for every student. Be ready to virtually collaborate!

As a result of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the function of and be able to implement inclusive strategies using five free or low cost tools and resources that provide options to increase learner engagement, decrease dependence on adults and empower learners to personalize their learning.

  • Describe the function of and be able to implement inclusive strategies using five free or low cost resources to help educators provide more options for how to represent content in a way that honors learner variability and provide learners with options for demonstrating what they have learned.

  • Create a plan to use at least one digital resource that highlights the inclusive technology tools and share with other participants.
