Description:

In this ever-changing technology climate, many educational AI-powered platforms have been developed with the promise of decreasing time spent on creating communication boards. The increasing trend in the use of AI has risen questions and hesitation by some, while others are intrigued and enticed by the potential when developing communication systems and materials to support students with complex communication needs. This presentation will share findings from the evaluation between the differences in the design of communication systems, by school-based professionals in training, and by the AI-powered platform, Glint by Ner Chat. Similarities, differences, positive and negative outcomes, and future practical considerations will be outlined.
